A Kiwi Songwriter Podcast

Giday folks, I am a songwriter based in Auckland. I have a new podcast which might be of interest to other songwriters, performers looking for new material or just people interested in a bit of new Kiwiana. If you have iTunes or any other means of subscribing to podcasts, you can get mine at http://luigicappel.libsyn.com/rss. I also have a music site at www.musicforte.com/member/bluesbro. Have a listen to Greenhouse. It is obviously about the Greenhouse efect. There is also a reference to Helen Clarke, our PM there. It says that she has depression on the run. I was interviewed by a LA podcaster who thought it was about a woman with bipolar disease:)

Official Worldwide Launch: June 10, 2005 - Global Music Project

The official launch of Global Music Project is coming JUNE 10. As you know, this will be a worldwide event to raise money and awareness for Global Music Project's network of charities, including Mercy Corps, World Wildlife Fund, UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders, and others. We need to have launch events in as many countries as possible so that we can cause change in the world as well as receive attention from the media. THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY to coordinate your own event in your city/country. It can be a SIMPLE show in a local pub (just one performer with "a benefit for Global Music Project.org" written on the schedule) or something more extravagant, if you prefer. Either way, it will help us receive attention worldwide and raise money for charities who really make a big difference in the world. And you can make a difference too!

Will you or someone you know hold a local event?

Please get back to us ASAP! We want to include you (and your city/country) in our announcements! Thank you!

MORE INFO ABOUT GMP: Global Music Project (GMP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Seattle, WA. We provide support for global humanitarian and environmentalist charities through the talents of the world's musicians and other artists. Our mission is to better the world through music by bringing financial support and increased awareness to select globally-oriented charities. GMP gives to Mercy Corps, Doctors Without Borders, UNICEF, World Wildlife Fund, and others.

Simply put, Global Music Project promotes artists while supporting charities worldwide. It's downloadable music, but the money goes to charity!

Global Music Project (it's downloadable music, but the money goes to charity!) is currently gearing up for its worldwide launch on Feb 24th. In Seattle, it will be at Bada Lounge (7pm). We're also planning parties in the UK and Zambia Africa on that same day. IMPORTANT: If you know anyone in other parts of the globe that might like some exposure for their music and willing to have a launch party there, let us know.

If you're in the Seattle area, come down to the meeting this Tuesday night (Jan 4th) at 7pm at Bada Lounge. You could meet a few of our volunteers and see what we're up to! If you know anyone else that might want to check it out as well, bring them along or send them to http://globalmusicproject.org

Happy New Year,

Peter
